Over fifteen years ago the stock market was a mystery to my brother and me. We each had a vague sense that other people were profiting handsomely from it, but we didn’t know where to start. Despite working hard and saving each month into a savings account, we never seemed to become any better off. There were always news headlines describing how the stock market had gone up or down over the course of a day, but it was pretty meaningless to us – we felt we were missing out on something, but had no idea what.

There were (and still are) countless articles touting various companies that were sure to make its shareholders rich, or stating ‘how to become an ISA millionaire’, etc. None of it made sense: if these companies were such a sure thing then there would have to be a catch. It was too good to be true.

There didn’t seem to be any good guidance that could describe the end-to-end process for going from an absolute beginner, to becoming a bona fide investor; successfully building and growing a pot of money.

Being (relatively) sensible types, we embarked on years of learning. We didn’t realise at the time, but we were going down our own personal Investment Pathway – we just didn’t know how long it was, or which steps would be on the way.

Having done this the hard way, we have taken all our hard work, learning, successes, failures and 30+ years of combined investment experience to develop the Investment Pathway. We want to make it easy for other people to get started and put their money to work.
